Wex Stories

Dystopia
My dystopia is about dinosaurs. Their big, loud, carnivores and ugly . Being in front of one in plain sight I pee myself. To be alone and be in the jungle or in some place I don't now. Any kind of dinosaur I will be freaking out just seeing them one meter from me , and whats more annoying is that they were intimidating , I cant imagine myself hearing there roar and seeing there pointy teeth.I'm really thankful to be leaving with no dinosaur's , if they still would be here I couldn't survive not one day of my life.
Now right to the point I don't like them and don't want to be near them. Even thought they don't exist anymore.

SLC'S

In this year I a lot of problems with school , not having good grades, being lazy etc. And whats more depressing for this year my mom said is: you're not going to be able to go to college because you don't have enough credits. It was sad to hear but I had one opportunity in a school named HTHMA she said if I went there I would be able to graduate, but there was one condition I had to go back to be a freshmen not a sophomore it really hit me . I started to think to myself m not going to graduate on 2011 WHAT!!! but in 2012 NOOOO but at the same time I stop complaining and try again and not give up easily . It was hard to make this decision, but I didn't want to not go to college so I agreed with the opportunity.

Spring Break

In my spring break I didn't do nothing exciting it was pretty boring because I was packing to move to another house and I wasn't doing anything but packing. But there was a moment where I found myself dreaming that I was a billionaire it was depressive because it wasn't true but it was a good dream it was funny ,scary and at the same time happy because I was helping my family, I was giving money to all the children in need all over the world . In that little moment i didnt want anyone to wake me up because of my little time of glory.
HAHAHAHA !!!! FUNNY!! o well it cant be helped.

1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
sea salt or black pepper to taste

Step 1 : Wash all youre ingredients thoroughly.

Step 2: Dry your ingredients well. If you don't your perfect recipe will be ruined.

OK.

Step 3 :Make sure their dry and you start chopping the cherry tomatoes.

Chup, Chup , Chup

Chop , chop , chop

Aha Aha mmm.... OK, I think you get it right ? OK, now to the next step.

Now that the cherry tomatoes are chopped go ahead and put them aside and start to chop another ingredient.

Step 4: Chop your sun dried tomatoes until you have little pieces.

Now mix them together well.

Step 5: The next thing you're going to do is mix olive oil, vinegar and oregano.

Olive oil

Vinegar

Oregano. OH wow!!

Mix them very well . And now the part I like the best , CHEESE.

Mozzarella Cheese , mix it slowly because it maybe get ruined.

And it will look like this . Isn't it a master piece?
And last but not least the basil . Wait like 2 minutes to putt it with the other stuff.
So now that you waited 2 minutes you can mix it and wait another , lets see um... like 10 good minutes so the flavor can be more delicious and Voila!!! You're done.

This I believe

This I believe

Link for page this I believe

I liked this essay because I liked the way she talkes about freedom of every person .
She's proud of she is and everybody has to be proud of who they are.
For example, Im mexican and proud of it .

The part that I liked the best was Ala El-saad courage becuase of putting her hijab to school ,she thought everybody was going to say bad things , but the coolest thing was that it didnt happen , she made a lot of friends .
In my opinion America is the best place to get to know different races and religions .

Ok, this is a essay I really comunicated with, because I love music not just 21 century music but classic to , I like opera and big choirs . I believe music can help the world just like Joan Tower said . Music is her passion her carrer, her everything .... theres a part where Joan says strong music can make space out jaja... thats exactly true it happens to me every time , well not just me to everyone now that the magnifesent ipod exist its difficult not to space out.

This essay I picked it because it was hilarious and I agreed with it , Alex says every car is the representation of who he or she is. She talkes about how exiting are crashes with her car and maybe is because she wants to get ride of it ,the car just doesn't want to die.

Farmers Maket Interveiw

Today Charlotte left us a challenging assigment to go to a Farmer's Market and ask questions to a person that worked there. For example : Why are they here? Are you helping somebody that wants to help the world ? Is it popular with youngsters? etc.
I chose to interview a person named Cinthia that sold Mexican Candies .
2. Cinthia thinks the Plaza is really popular with youngsters. Every week she is there and there are a lot of people and she sells a lot if her candy.

3. Cinthia started 6 months ago which means she is new with this Farmer's Market .

4. Cinthia likes to plant flowers and fruits all the time, mainly for pleasure but she also said that she does it in order to change the world. What impressed me is that she eats farms and eats her own fruit and vegetables.
I think that is great because she can also save money.
5. I asked her if she stayed in the same place all the time and she answered : "I don't stay in the same Farmer's Market I sell in different places."
6. I asked her if she had a specific question, and she said she didn't have any specific question.

In my opinion this person is trying to help little by little and that's good.
It was exiting to do this. There were so much things to buy by a cheap price. They even had llamas. By the way, one of them spit on me because I stared at it too much. It was disgusting! At the same time, my friends said it was hilarious.

Ecological Intelligence

1. Ecology is the branch of biology that deals with the relations and interactions between organisms and their environment.
If a person has ecological stupidity s/he is going to destroy his enviroment and the other person who is ecological intelligent he's going to try to make it better, by thinking and reasoning about how to protect the world and not destroy it.
2. In my opinion, we're trying to be ecological intelligent by helping and improving the environment and our world . We must inspire people and help too, and not have people who don't care at all.
3. I think my ecological intelligence is not that advanced because I have much more to learn , and there are things that I don't even know exist. Its pretty depressing when I think about it . I try to be ecologically smart by recycling our trash at home, saving water, buying organic items at the store. Personally, I think it also helps that I am not into consumerism. I try to buy what I need only when I can. That way I don't waste unnecessary things.

Thrift Stores

1. When I saw how many people did our survey I was surprised that people actually do respond . Some of the result where a bit unprofessional and not realistic like they were just answering to just finish.
2. My expectations were to people take it seriously and they did some but still. Even thought they didn't have to take or if they didn't want to take they took it. I'm really grateful for the people who helped us do our survey .
3. What our campaign is going to be is to inspire people to go and shop on Thrift Stores and not be embarrassed just because its cheap, they might have good quality stuff.

1. What strikes me about this movie is the way they live. It really surprised me how they make their own food and milk. It's amazing! When they showed the animals, I said to myself, "Oh God what else do they have, a cow?" The dedication they had planting all those plants for months, it's really cool . I would like to help them but I'm not that hippie. One more thing isthey chose to use a bicycle not a car. In my opinion, what they're doing is really hardcore.

2. Well, Ishmael was talking to Julie about Fertile Crescent; it was an empty area of world to grow a garden not like deserts, now. He started to talk about the leavers people of Terpsichore .
Those people became full time farmers like the Dervaes Family. Well, not all the people. Another group did something else and so did another, they didn't think it was necessary.

3. This family is unique and determined to do a change . I like how they live simple , relaxing , peaceful and pacific. n short ,full time hippies in my opinion. And what really , really was shocking about it was that they didn't work at all. Well they worked in the farm, but outside their little jungle: no money, no technology, elsewhere to be found in their house , maybe a couple of things, but still.
This family has really made an impact in my life; it inspired me to make a difference too, but not that extreme.

1. The two general rules in my opinion are : You have a culture if the food is all owned and if it's under lock and key. They perceive themselve to be members of a race .

Yes, I agree with what Ishamel says that the people belongs to the same culture, because we're
the same and we live in the same planet and we believe in one thing.

2. No, Ishamael is in complete agreement with Mother Nature.
Yeah! I agreed with him because he says all the reasons there could be with the examples he
gives her about human culture and mother culture.

3. Ok, the Takers were the people who had to dance a lot of hours to stay alive and the Leavers
they thought of themselves as living in the hands of God. In my opinion, the Takers where the
bad guys and the Leavers and other groups just wanted a peaceful and easy life.
The connections with the American culture is that not everybody wants to be ruled by someone.

1. Create a blog post in which you answer the following questions. You can adress each question separately or holistically in program format .

a. Spell check

b. Include an image that connects with your comments.

i. What does it mean to live sustainably?

It means being responsible; dedicated; having good judjement and making the right

decisions.

ii. How much freedom and independence do you have as a 14-16 year old in our society?

I have the freedom and the right to express myself and to dress the way I want.
I appreciate my freedom because when I lived in Eritrea, the people didn't have the
rights we do. Especially women dont have the right to preserve their body from mutilation.

iii. As a 14-16 year old how can you currently live your life more sustainably?

I'm making an effort to get a good education and making good choices and trying to be

healthy too.
